With the unveiling of its environment-friendly paper used for packaging of skincare products, Moorim is acting on the values of ESG management.
Moorim announced in January that it would be joining hands with Kolmar Group to develop a new environment-friendly packaging paper called ‘Neo CCP R30’ to be used for packaging skincare products. Neo CCP R30 has further increased the environment-friendliness factor of Moorim’s existing premium packaging paper, ‘Neo CCP’, by using recycled ingredients, namely recycled pulp that is mixed in during the production process to minimize waste.
Moorim and Kolmar Group had signed on July 6, a strategic MOU for the development of environment-friendly packaging paper and ingredients for skincare products. Just four months since the signing of the MOU, the two companies were able to showcase new packaging materials that can be applied to products.
The launch of this latest packaging paper stands out amidst the wider trend of ESG management and the numerous MOUs and R&D projects taking place to develop environment-friendly products, as it is one of the first results where a leader in the beauty industry and a leader in the paper manufacturing industry came together and have actually produced results. The two companies plan to label the environment-friendly aspects of the packaging to offer consumers ‘clean beauty’ products that are environment-friendly inside and out.
Head of sales at Moorim, Mr. Shingyu Ryu noted, “The latest product launch is expected to see huge demand from many industries that had long desired environment-friendly products. As the environment-friendly aspect of paper has been highlighted, many corporate clients have been asking for such products. As a leader in the industry, Moorim plans to live up to such expectations through ethical paper products.”
Meanwhile, Moorim and Kolmar Group plan to follow up on this development of environment-friendly paper packaging with R&D on how to apply ‘nano-cellulose’, a natural material derived from pulp produced by Moorim, to skincare ingredients, too.
